Cathy Rodda —
Cathartic Pictures CEO and Producer
Cathy is a Creative Producer of feature films and documentaries. She has a science degree in zoology and journalism and a background in advertising and marketing. She made her first foray into documentary as a Researcher for Gulliver Media, was a Writer/Producer in the film unit at the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds in the UK in the late 1990s, and Exec Produced Cathy Henkel’s RISE OF THE ECO-WARRIORS (2014).
Yet it’s in fiction features that Cathy made her mark, starting with the multi award winning UNFINISHED SKY which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and was the 4th highest grossing Australian film of 2008.
She is highly experienced in international co-productions, including the Finnish/German/Australian cult sci fi hit IRON SKY (premiered Berlinale 2012, sold worldwide), and Danish/German/Australian action comedy VED VERDENS ENDE (2009). Her most recent film was talent accelerator zombie western BULLETS FOR THE DEAD (2015).
Cathy took a sabbatical in 2015-19 as Senior Manager of Production Investment at Film Victoria, and returned to producing in late 2019 as Cathartic Pictures.
Brooke Daly —
Head of Engagement / Impact Producer
With a Master of Arts (Communications), and 15 years in senior marketing and communications roles in the UK and Australia, Brooke has a strong record of building audiences, developing partnerships, engaging the media and creating digital campaigns to generate impact.
Brooke has worked at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) promoting Australia’s top practitioners and productions internationally, and establishing the Academy brand in LA. Most recently she worked at Film Victoria, and ran the Environmental Film Festival of Australia.
Norm Wilkinson —
Creator/Producer
With a career in screen and documentary-making spanning three decades, Norm’s most notable productions include MEDICINE WOMAN (13 x 1/2 hr series, 2007), THE LAST OF THE GREAT APES?, a significant 3D theatrical, giant screen and TV series documentary package released in 2014, and PROJECT LAZARUS which aired on ABC TV in 2017.
Other documentary highlights include MALI with Lynda Stoner and KAKADU with Jack Thompson, both 1981, and EDGE OF NOWHERE in 2012.
Norm’s programs have screened widely including on National Geographic, BBC, PBS–USA, Discovery Channels USA and Europe.
Norm also produced the first Australian full SFX science fiction feature film THE TIME GUARDIAN (1988) starring Carrie Fisher, Dean Stockwell and Tom Burlinson, and, with Cathy, BULLETS FOR THE DEAD (2015).
