A TREE IS FOR LIFE

Trees give us the air we breathe, food, medicine, shelter, transport, music, tools and communication. They provide fuel for fire, which, once tamed, became the engine of civilization. Yet as that same fire rages across our landscapes, we have to ask ourselves, what’s gone wrong?

Part love-letter, part wake-up call, A TREE IS FOR LIFE is a suite of documentary films that invites us to rediscover our relationship with trees.

"In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught."

Why Trees?

Trees created the atmospheric conditions that made human life possible, and our existence has been entwined ever since.

By rediscovering our connections with trees and exploring the complexities of how they work and how we live together, our films aim to inspire positive, achievable action for the planet and future generations.

Our supporting impact campaign invites you to re-evaluate your consumer habits, and do what you can to make a difference, no matter how big or small, to support sustainable forests and prioritise trees to address climate change, and to support communities and wildlife impacted by tree-loss.
